In the last article, we promised you a continuation of the set of rules for working with design agencies that will help you achieve mutual understanding and create the unique design that you want. Let's continue!
5. Design development is a process
In any case, you should perceive it in this. Everything does not end with the first layout, and even the most experienced and visionary designers can not always provide you with a ready-made product from the first time. How can the shopify website design client react to the work of the design agency?
The first option: he likes everything, you can move on to the final part of the cooperation.
The second option: he does not like anything, and the design agency did not do exactly what the customer expected to see as a result.
The third option: partial hit, i.e. The client likes something in the layout, but there are things that need to be worked on.
If you are faced with the second option, then this is also good! Now the agency knows you don’t need it. Next time there is a high probability of full customer satisfaction, or reaching agreement on many parameters.
Therefore, it is necessary to treat the design as a process. Step by step, slowly, gradually you strive to achieve the perfect result. The chances of getting it from the first time are extremely small. And if the discontent is repeated for the third time in a row, then you can start sounding the alarm. To avoid such a situation and speed up the search for the perfect design, do not be silent, talk about what is not satisfied. And try to think conceptually and at a higher level than the simple “I like it/doesn’t like it”. Then designers will be able to more easily understand the cause of the failure and correct the product.
6. A design agency is not a toolbox
The customer should not try to discuss the solution of the problem or offer his own option. He should make it clear the reason why the prepared design does not like it. The rest is for the specialists. If you try to lead the work of the agency and experiment with unnecessary teams and discussions on how to do, the agency can become a tool in the hands of the customer or completely refuse to work with it. Be that as it may, the project will be doomed to failure in both cases.
Trust is needed – this is the basis of the relationship between the customer and the design agency. If there is no mutual respect, partnership and an atmosphere of goodwill in the work, then there can be no question of any successful project.
